I finally had a moment to come check out your space. We, my friend, are kindred spirits. I know you wrote this a year ago, but it is a fantastic piece. While I chose to stay in a working mom role, I left the billable hour lifestyle three years ago and I still relish that freedom every single Sunday afternoon. (I'm betting you know exactly the Sunday Afternoon Stress of which I speak.)

So lovely and eloquent. And relatable.

And it was a beautiful moon - my daughter and I marveled at it's graceful sliver in the sky as we drove in the predawn hours yesterday to have her tonsils removed. She was anxious about the surgery, but kept her eyes on the moon and told me with confidence that the moon was following her, to keep her company.

There have been times I have unraveled all at once and others were I seem to be in a slow unravel--and I don't know which is worse. Currently, I am in a slow unravel and I can see it all spinning out of control--just trying to keep my head out of the water! Thank goodness there is always a rock to lean on and HE is so good! I think we all unravel periodically as mothers. Maybe a little unraveling is neccessary now and then, so we can focus for a bit on reweaving the strands back together a little tighter and more secure than they were before.
Beautiful post -- your descriptions of the moon were almost poetic.
